Specialties: Young adults and teens, anxiety, identity exploration, LGBTQ+
When I was a teenager, I went to see a therapist for a year or so. They were very supportive and comforting. Whether I was sharing about my struggles or gabbing about my interests, I felt heard. After years of jumping around on majors in college, I decided that I was interested in helping others.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master’s degree at Point Loma Nazarene in December of 2018. I have experience working with teens and young adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. My goal is to offer a safe space for my clients to trust me with their authentic, and at times vulnerable, selves. I hope to support my clients in becoming more self-aware and compassionate towards themselves.
I use a mostly person-centered approach, where the therapeutic relationship is absolutely key. I believe that if I am asking someone to be authentic and open, then I have to help model that. My clients are ready for change, just unsure about where to start. Together, we find a place to start and work collaboratively to reach your goals.
I have played the drums since age 14. I am very passionate about music and have played in bands since I began to learn; some just for fun, and other to play in front of crowds.
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.” –Carl Rogers
