I provide an uplifting enthusiasm to assist clients in illuminating areas of growth. It is important to me that I offer a holistic and culturally-competent approach to therapy by compassionately listening, supporting, and educating clients along their journey in self-discovery. My approach to therapy exemplifies assertiveness, guidance, and highlights how one relates to others, and influences in relationships. In therapy, we are mindful of language as it shapes our perception of our world and the way we relate to others. I will offer you a refreshing take on creating change by challenging you to step outside of your comfort zone.
I work from a DBT approach (distress-tolerance and emotional regulation skills), utilizing mindfulness exercises, and reconstructing one’s storyline, to achieve a more meaningful life. In my work as a therapist, I also uses a family systems models to address chronic patterns, compulsive behavior, and addiction. I will modify and use other modalities depending on client needs, using the basis of psychoeducation, collaboration, and transparency as a platform.
I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with an earned Masters of Science degree in Counseling. I have worked in the mental health field for 5 years working with marginalized populations ages ranging from 12-65 years old.
